The only reason I could think that it does this is that the quick removal and reinsertion of the battery is causing the processor to lock up and repeating whatever was in the buffer at the time.
It also involves the charger, I imagine removing the battery while having the phone plugged in causes it to crash, probably due to the CPU not being able to run off the power the USB provides
